Solid Oak Wood Picture Frame with Tempered Glass

Artist Statement:

It is possible to have a more expansive understanding of ourselves as humans.

This piece was born as a rebuttal to those that claim to have the definitive right answers and that their vision of what is righteous should be applied to all. Humans hate uncertainty, and putting things in boxes can make our brains feel a little more safe. It is out of smallness and fearfulness that one dismisses a whole universe of people who have different backgrounds and beliefs than you.

The world is not a binary of good and bad, black and white, but full of beautiful little spectrums of nuance.
Value those differences between us even if you don’t personally understand their perspective.
We are all humans equally worthy of love.
It is okay you don’t possess all the answers.
Break it down so it’s not so black and white.
